2009 A(H1N1) outbreak
In April 2009, Mexican outbreak flu, first we called the swine flu, which is a spread of a new strain of influenza virus. But until now, There is no evidence that finding influenza virus in pigs, World Health Organization (WHO) no longer use the “swine flu” refers to the current flu , they started using A(H1N1). I think this is a correct decision.
A(H1N1) named Influenza A virus subtype H1N1, is a subtype of influenzavirus A and the most common cause of influenza in humans. Some strains of H1N1 are endemic in humans. Less virulent H1N1 strains still exist in the wild today. It causing a small fraction of all influenza-like illness and a large fraction of all seasonal influenza. H1N1 strains caused roughly half of all flu infections in 2006. Other strains of H1N1 are endemic in pigs and in birds.
